Photographed in the twilight of her RAF career in the static display at Air Tournament International 92 at Boscombe. This Jet Provost was operated by 1 Flying Training School at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire, and was delivered to the RAF on the 4th June 1971. The Mk 5 differed from earlier variants in having a pressurised cockpit and being equipped with the more powerful Armstrong Siddeley Viper Mk-202 turbojet, 110 Mk5s were built, 94 were later converted to this, the definitive T5A standard with improved avionics. The 1 FTS Jet Provosts started to be replaced by the Shorts Tucano in 1992, the first one arriving on the 1st April, with the change over being completed by mid-1993. After being retired from service she was sold to the USA and was registered to David Weininger of Santa Fe, New Mexico, as N800LT.
