This Plane was the 1025th. Curtiss-production plane. It was delivered in 1941 to the United States Army Air Corps. The original serialnumber was: 41-35918. Its nowadays colourscheme is from the American Volunteer Group. They were,clandestinely, with 40 aircraft in Burma to fight against the Japanese. In Burma they were called the "Flying Tigers" This plan has the markings of AVG Flying Tiger Ace David Lee "Tex" Hill. He first served as a flight leader and later as leader of the 2nd Squadron. He made 18 kills in different fighter planes.
