Complete with Swedish flag atop the rotor head, this Swedish Army HKP 9A (the local designation for the Bo.105) was photographed at Middle Wallops 1992 Air Show. One of twenty-one Bo.105s ordered by the Swedish Army for use in the anti-tank role, these helicopters are nearing the end of their service with the Swedish Army, their role having changed to mainly reconnaissance and personnel transport. In the anti-tank role they were armed with the AGM-71 TOW (Tube Launched Optically Tracked Wire Guided Missile) known locally as the RB 55, linked to the SAAB HELITOW sighting system.
