The static EADS "Bf 109 G-2" was build in 1948 as HA-1112 K-1-L. In March 1968 restored to static condition as Bf 109E "red 5" for the film "The Battle of Britain". Sold to Dr. Willy Messerschmitt and the cowling section was modified to be more authentic, then used as gate guard at the MBB headquarters in Augsburg. 1994 EADS began a rebuild as a Bf 109 G-2 for static display. Completed in 1995 without camouflage then painted in this cs in 1997.
