This 22 Squadron Wessex was photographed displaying during Helifest '91 at Duxford. Sitting in the doorway is none other than John Craven of 'Newsround' fame! She made her first flight on the 31st January 1964 and was delivered to the Royal Air Force on the 26th February that year. After the Wessex was retired from SAR duties in the mid-1990s she became an instructional airframe at HMS Sultan in Gosport, Hampshire where she is used by the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival School (RNAESS).
