Virgin Atlantic's 'Maid of Honour' photographed on approach into Heathrow. Virgin operated fourteen -200 series 'Classics' during the late '80s and early '90s, all were eventually replaced by -400 series 747s or Airbus A340-600s. This particular 747 was originally delivered to Singapore Airlines on the 1st February 1980 as 9V-SQL, she was acquired by Virgin on the 27th August 1989 and was operated by them until she was sold to Tower Air on the 28th February 1995 becoming N618FF. She was then sold to UPS on the 28th March 2001 and converted to a -212BF series freighter. She was subsequently operated by Tradewinds and most recently by Kalitta Air as N708CK.
