This Aeronautica Militare G222 was photographed arriving at IAT93 from her home base at Pisa-San Giusto. One of fifty-two G222s operated by the Italian Air Force they have since officially been retired, however, two aircraft, one G222RM ('Radiomisura' - literally 'radio measurements') variant used for radio/radar calibration and one G222VS ('Versione Speciale' - literally 'special version') variant operated in the Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) role (sometimes designated G.222GE) are still operational.
