After the conclusion of the war they were also deployed to Turkey to police the no-fly zone over Iraq. She was destroyed in an accident on 27 October 2000 whilst being operated by 6 Squadron based at RAF Coltishall. Whilst flying at low-level, the pilot saw a densely packed flock of birds directly ahead. The aircraft struck the birds causing a catastrophic failure of both engines. The pilot ejected suffering major injuries, the aircraft then crashed into open countryside 5 miles northeast of Dumfries.
