Virgin Atlantic "Classic" 747 'Scarlet Lady' in the airline's late-1990s livery including "No Way BA/AA" slogans intended to display Sir Richard Branson's displeasure at the proposed merger of BA with American Airlines. She was originally delivered to Alitalia on the 7 May 1971 as I-DEMU but went on to serve with Overseas National Airways as N358AS, National Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and CAAC as B-2440. After being retired from service with Virgin, she was operated by Kabo Air as 5N-EEE who took delivery on the 28 October 2001. She was later stored at Marana, Arizona from October 2007. This photograph taken sometime in late 1997.
