Displayed in the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Heritage Park. This Thud is a Mig killer from the Vietnam War. There are suggestions on some websites that her serial is false but I have found no evidence to support this. F-105D 61-0159 was flown on 12 May 1967 by Capt. Jacques Suzanne (Crossbow 1) of the 333rd TFS, 355th TFW, Takhlie Thailand. Killed was a Mig 17 with the F-105's 20mm gun. While at Takhli she's reported to have sported a large "Ace of Spades" on the tail. During the course of the war, F-105 aircrews downed 27½ MiGs, sharing one with an F-4D Phantom crew. of those kills, 25 were achieved with the M-61 Vulcan cannon of the Thud, 2 with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.
