This very smart looking Neptune fire bomber is ex-Bu. No. 147957. There seems to be some confusion regarding this aircraft's c/n but I believe this to be the correct one, it's not 826-8013 or 726-8013 as stated elsewhere. She's also sometimes incorrectly captioned as N1444B on some websites. One of the last Neptune variant produced by Lockheed, equipped with upgraded engines and auxilary Westinghouse J-34 jet engines in pods. She was retired to MASDC at Divis-Monthan AFB on the 24 July 1976 and was struck off charge on the 29 May 1978. After her military service she was converted as a firebomber and registered N7060X then later N14448 with Black Hills Aviation, Inc., Alamogordo, New Mexico.
