This TBM-3E was actually built by General Motors. Since this photograph was taken she has been moved inside Hangar 4 and is displayed in the markings of VT-1 (Navy Torpedo Squadron 1) aboard the USS Essex (CV-9) in 1944. After her US Navy service ended she was operated on the civil register as N9593C. She was donated to the museum by James Levrett.
