This fierce looking Mohawk wears the markings of the First Infantry Division, U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. The OV-1 entered service in 1961 as a tactical reconnaissance and battlefield observation aircraft. By the end of 1962 they were being deployed to Vietnam. The OV-1C was similar to the OV-1A but was used in the infrared reconnaissance role carrying cameras and infrared sensors, 169 of this variant were built, four OV-1Cs still fly for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, hunting for drug smugglers with a non-standard, nose-mounted infrared system. She is displayed at Pima courtesy of the Department of the US Army.
