Photographed taxying out at Flying Legends 2005. This C47 was built in 1943 at Long Beach, California as 43-30710 and served with the United States Army Air Force 1386 Base Command at Meeks Airport (now Keflavik International Airport). She served until 1946 when Iceland Airways bought her and registered her as TF-ISH 'Gljáfaxi'. She was re-registered on the 12 May 1973 as TF-NPK and was donated to the Icelandic Soil Conservation Society (Landgraedslan) who used the aircraft for spraying fertilizer. She is now operated by Icelandic DC-3 Friends and is shown here wearing special markings to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first Icelandic international flight.
