This very anonymous looking Herc was photographed at Mojave in 1993. An EC-130Q TACAMO (Take Charge and Move Out) this version had a permanently installed VLF radio transmitter system used to supplement shorebased communications facilities and acted as a strategic communications aircraft, communicating with ballistic-missile submarines. She was retired to AMARC on 18 February 1992 and allocated the Inventory Code 2G0018. She's now flying for the National Science Foundation as N130AR and is used for atmospheric research.
