Photographed the day before RNAS Yeovilton's 1994 Air Day. This Skyservant was visiting from Marinefliegergeschwader 5 based at Kiel-Holtenau. She was one of two Do 28D-2/OU (the OU standing for Oil Unit) used for monitoring oil pollution on behalf of the German Transport Ministry, note the Sideways Looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) pod under the fuselage and the radome under the cockpit. In 1991 both aircraft operated for several weeks in the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War under the control of the United Nations. These two aircraft were replaced by the Do 228 at the end of 1995. After retirement she became D-IDOZ. The other Do-28D-2/OU was 5919 (c/n 4194), she now resides in the Aeronauticum, (German Navy Museum)in Nordholz, Germany.
