Photographed the day before RNAS Yeovilton's 1994 Air Day. Built in 1945 she was formerly Bu. No. 88391. She saw service with the Royal New Zealand Air Force in the later part of World War II as NZ5648. Struck off charge on 9 May 1949 she was sold as scrap but avoided the smelter and was displayed at Hamilton Airport from 1953-1954. She was restored to taxying condition by the Waikato Aero Club from 1962-63 before passing to the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland where she was displayed as NZ5611 'Josephine II'. In October 1971 she was shipped to Vancouver but was impounded by Canadian Customs who stored her until 1973. She then moved to Harlingen, Texas and a succession of private owners before moving to the UK in April 1989 for Doug Arnold's Warbirds of Great Britain Ltd. She was flown as Bu. No. 17640 'Big Hog' from 1989-1991. The Old Flying Machine Company operated her from 1991-1998 firstly in RNZAF colours as seen here, then as US Navy Bu. No. 92844 as part of the brilliant 'Breitling Fighters' team. She's now back in New Zealand as ZK-COR and is the sole remaining airworthy 'clipped-wing' New Zealand Corsair.
