Displayed in the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Heritage Park. This Phantom is not at all what she appears to be. Painted to represent an F-4C 64-0829, she is actually an ex-US Navy F-4N Bu. No. 150639. The 'real' 64-0829 resides in the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She was the mount of Colonel (later Brigadier General) Robin Olds, who, using callsign 'TAMPA 01' shot down two MiG-17s in 64-0829 on 20 May 1967 over Vietnam. Robin Olds was a legendary fighter pilot, a triple ace with a combined total of 16 victories in World War II and the Vietnam War. The Phantom in this photograph not only differs in mark from the genuine Scat XXVII but also because she displays four kill markings on the air intake splitter. Olds DID score four victories over Vietnam but not all in 64-0829.
