UH-34D painted to represent a HUS-1L Bu.No. 144657 named 'King Pin II' one of four HUS-1L's modified for operations in Antartica flown by VX-6 on Operation Deep Freeze. King Pin II set a record by flying non-stop from Little America to McMurdo Sound. The 450-mile trip took five hours on 7 December 1957. This UH-34D is actually Bu.No. 150227 and is now painted in US Marine Corps colours at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida.
