Photographed at Chandler before overhaul by T & G, this C-130 still wears the markings of her previous operator the United States Air Force, Air National Guard. T & G are now known as International Air Response, they are a leading provider of aerial spraying services and technology. They operate a fleet of six C-130s including this one, which is now painted in a smart white/grey/blue scheme. Due to runway deterioration at Chandler, they have since moved their operation to Coolidge Municipal Airport, Arizona. Just as an aside, and for anyone thinking of visiting Chandler Memorial, I have to point out that today there is very little to be seen there. The days of rows and rows of propliners stored up in the Arizona sun are over. Most of the aircraft I photographed there in 1993 have either been scrapped or moved out. Even when I visited, it was a bit of an ordeal for the rental car, and the local wildlife made it somewhere you had to be extremely careful when hiking out off tarmac! There were plans to develop the site as a regional airport known as Gila River. As yet this is yet to get off the ground, no pun intended!
