Originally designated a C-54D and intended for use by the United States Army Air Force as 42-72525. She was transferred to the US Navy as Bu.No. 56498. Redesignated a C-54Q in 1962. In civilian life she became N44914 with Biegert Aviation in 1975 and was stored for many years at Chandler Memorial. She was sold to Atlantic Warbirds, Montana in 1996, completely restored and painted in Air Transport Command colours. On 27 September 2002 she arrived in the UK via Iceland for use in a film about the Berlin Airlift. On 3 September 2003 she was bought by Sherman Aircraft Sales Inc. and registered that same date to Aces High US Ltd. based at North Weald, Essex, UK.
