Back in the days before the Red Arrows ruled supreme, aerobatic teams tended to be local affairs. The name of this team was rather cleverly derived from Manby College of Air Warfare - The Macaws. My log shows XP680/23, XP688/22, XS180/10, XS210/12 and XS215/18 present at Exeter for the show; the codes were carried on the top surface of the flaps. This aircraft ended its days training firemen at Moreton-in-Marsh, after being used (as 8460M) as an instructional airframe at St Athan.
