Previous ID: LY-ALU. Before being registered G-HYAK by the UK CAA this Yak 52 (9011107) was Lithuanian registered LY-ALU. It went to the "Russian" register offered by a club in Moscow at the end of 2009. Sadly this photo taken on April 23rd is probably one of the last shot of " RA-3585 K". It crashed during formation training from North Weald airfield just a few days later on Thursday 28 April 2011,in a small lake. Killing the 2 persons on board. Very sad. The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has started an investigation to find out the causes of this tragic accident. And hopefully to prevent the loss of more "Russian" registered Yak 52 in Europe.
