In June 1992 the B-1B fleet was grounded due to an engine failure. At the time, a B-1B from Ellsworth AFB was at the National Capital Air Show in Ottawa, Canada. The EC-135A in the photo was also from Ellsworth, and some of the ground crew from that jet remained behind with one pilot and two crew chiefs from the B-1. In July the EC-135A returned with additional personnel who conducted an inspection on the B-1 and it was cleared to depart.
