This P-51D was owned and operated by North American Aviation. The airplane was kept at its own hangar at the North American facility in Los Angeles, California in 1964. R.A. "Bob" Hoover was the pilot and it was flown at air shows and other events for PR purposes. Now airworthy (2017) in France as F-AZSB and painted as Nooky Booky IV.
