Ex. MT719, Indian AF. Sold as G-VIII, N719MT. Then to USA (Cavanaugh Flight Museum) 9/7/93 as N719MT. [Additional historical information: This Spitfire was assigned to and flown in combat from April 1944 by my late father Squadron Leader Montague Charles Carrington Cotton, DFC, OAM. Monty (affectionately known as Bush) was the Commanding Officer of 17 Squadron RAF in Burma and China Bay (Ceylon) between 9 Dec. 1942 and 23 Jul. 1944. Note that on page 200 of his publication "Hurricanes Over Burma with The Memoirs of Wing Commander Bunny Stone", he elaborates on the arrival of the new Spitfires. On page 201 of his second book he has included an actual photo of "J" which became his machine. If you do not have a copy of either of his two books - or cannot get hold of them - I shall be more than happy to scan the relevant pages and any other information you may wish to procure.
