This Sea Vixen was built as an FAW.1 in 1959 by de Havilland at Christchurch and spent most of its active life as a trials aircraft before passing to Flight Refuelling for possible conversion to drone configuration. This never happened and from 1983 it was displayed at the Trout Lake Collection at Kings Langley, eventually moving to Bruntingthorpe in 1999. It was planned to restore the aircraft to taxying condition but for the moment these plans appear to have been stalled.
