This historic glider was one of 16 Slingsby Skys built for the British team at the 1952 World Gliding Championships. It was later sold to Switzerland and in 1954 it established a new world distance record for gliders when it flew from Switzerland to Spain in 16 hours. It flew from Crowland, UK during the 90s regularly flying cross country, until it was eventually sold to Brian Spreckley and was based in Ocana, Spain. It is currently being restored to flight by current owners at Lasham Airfield and is hoped to fly again late in 2019.
