Built at by English Electric, Preston as a B.2 (dd. to RAF 9/52), transferred to MoS 5/53 for use by Armstrong Siddeley (flying test-bed for Sapphire, later used in Mk.8 asnd Mk.9 Gloster Javelin) until briefly to A&AEE. Then to Ferranti, re-built as B1.(8) for radar development trials, back to A&AEE with further mods, then aerodynamic test-bed for T.22. Alloctaed 8799M on delivery to RAF Abingdon 8/84. Transferred to Winthorpe 11/85 and gifted to Newark Air Museum in 2003.
