XF387 was involved in a head on collision on the 10 August 1972 at low altitude over Silver Bay caravan park. Both pilots were killed along with a lady in a caravan with her dog called "Jet". Both XF384 and XF387 were completely destroyed. A number of people were injured in the Caravan Park.
