I was staying at the camp, with a bunch of former school mates. No doubt top brass arrived to sort out all the complaints about noise and underwear flying from the flag pole! Fred Pontin visited his Devon holiday camps frequently including Dolphin and St Mary's Bay in Brixham and Barton Hall in Torquay in 1963. A member of staff recalls being sent out to the sports field to clear any debris from the grass and to keep the holiday makers away from the landing zone with a small flag in hand to show the wind direction.
