This is the former G-AMCA. The original PH-ALR "Reiger" was a Santa Monica built,sea-shipped and Fokker re-assembled DC-3 delivered to KLM in April 1937, built with a RH(starboard) single passenger door and Wright R-1820 9 cylinder engines(Fokker had a license to build DC-3s but never used it). It escaped to England just before the Nazi invasion and became G-AGBC. It was used in the early days of WW II on runs from Whitchurch to Lisbon and G-AGBC was written off in a crash at Heston in September 1940 while landing in dense fog. This aircraft was built as as military C-47 with L.H (port) double freight doors and P&W R-1830 14 cylinder twin row engines...it appears to have had Wright R-1820 engines substituted for display
