From the Photographer - I dont think this aircraft ever flew in these colours in the RAF, more likely all silver with yellow training band as it became civil in 1958. I first saw it as G-APPM 17 May 1965 flying with British Midland at East Midlands Airport. From a former owner - I owned this aircraft, G-APPM in the 1960's and I can confirm it was indeed silver when I bought it. I don't think it was ever in the RAF colour scheme. Noisy aircraft and leaked oil but a pleasure to own and fly. Many happy memories of it. I kept it at Biggin Hill in Kent. I also registered it in the 1967 Kings Air Race, with racing number 54, it was flown by a friend of mine who was a doctor.
