New colour scheme introduced during early 1960. Air Safaris had a Hermes based at Newcastle for the summer of 1961 to operate IT flights to Spain. Image taken after the aircraft had been converted by Samlesbury Engineering Co Ltd, based at Samlesbury Aerodrome near Blackburn in Lancashire whilst registered to Skyways Ltd, late in 1959. Converted from 68 seat to 78 seat configuration with three additional windows added each side forward of wing. Mr Rylands was majority shareholder of both companies at the time.
