This Viking was completed with Nene jet engines, on its first flight on 06 April 1948 it became the world's first entirely jet powered airliner. After being converted back to piston engines it served with Cunard Eagle Airways, it was taken out of service in 1961, and broken up and moved to the gravel pits in nearby Bedfont, where i believe it was buried and is now under houses. A sad end to a historic aircraft.
